The Secret Beauty of Mt Everest

Mount Everestalso known in Nepal as Sagarmāthā and in Tibet as Chomolungma, is Earth's highest mountain. It is located in the Mahalangur mountain range in Nepal. Its peak is 8,848 metres (29,029 ft) above sea level. It is not the furthest summit from the centre of the Earth. That honour goes to Mount Chimborazo, in the Andes. The international border between China (Tibet Autonomous Region) and Nepal runs across Everest's precise summit point. Its massif includes neighbouring peaks Lhotse, 8,516 m (27,940 ft); Nuptse, 7,855 m (25,771 ft) and Changtse, 7,580 m (24,870 ft).
The final approach to Mt Everest

The first recorded efforts to reach Everest's summit were made by British mountaineers. With Nepal not allowing foreigners into the country at the time, the British made several attempts on the north ridge route from the Tibetan side. After the first reconnaissance expedition by the British in 1921 reached 7,000 m (22,970 ft) on the North Col, the 1922 expedition pushed the North ridge route up to 8,320 m (27,300 ft) marking the first time a human had climbed above 8,000 m (26,247 ft). Tragedy struck on the descent from the North col when seven porters were killed in an avalanche. The 1924 expedition resulted in the greatest mystery on Everest to this day: George Mallory and Andrew Irvine made a final summit attempt on June 8 but never returned, sparking debate as to whether they were the first to reach the top. They had been spotted high on the mountain that day but disappeared in the clouds, never to be seen again, until Mallory's body was found in 1999 at 8,155 m (26,755 ft) on the North face. Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary made the first official ascent of Everest in 1953 using the southeast ridge route. Tenzing had reached 8,595 m (28,199 ft) the previous year as a member of the 1952 Swiss expedition. The Chinese mountaineering team of Wang Fuzhou, Gonpo and Qu Yinhua made the first reported ascent of the peak from the North Ridge on May 25, 1960.

Davis Fall: experiencenepaltreks.com.np
Davis Falls is a waterfall located at Pokhara. The water forms an underground tunnel after reaching the bottom. This tunnel is approximately 500 feet (150 m) and runs 100 feet below ground level. On 31 July 1961, a Swiss couple Davi went swimming but the woman drowned in a pit because of the overflow. Her body was recovered 3 days later in river Phusre. Her father wished to name it "Davi's falls" after her. Its Nepali name is Patale Chango, which means "underworld waterfall". After exiting the tunnel, the water passes through a cave called Gupteshwor Mahadev or "cave beneath the ground". The Phewa Lake dam is the water source.
It is an attraction for tourists and locals. Found the major route of trekking's itinerary: Annapurna Basecamp Trek
Annapurna Base-Camp

Annapurna is a massif in the Himalayas in north-central Nepal that includes one peak over 8,000 meters (26,000 ft), thirteen peaks over 7,000 meters (23,000 ft), and sixteen more over 6,000 meters (20,000 ft). The massif is 55 kilometers (34 mi) long, and is bounded by t5he Kali Gandaki Gorge on the west, the Marshyandi River on the north and east, and by Pokhara Valley on the south. At the western end the massif encloses a high basin called the Annapurna Sanctuary. Annapurna is the tenth highest mountain in the world at 8,091 meters (26,545 ft) above sea level. Annapurna is a Sanskrit name which literally means “full of food”, but is normally translated as Goddess of the Harvests. According to Devdutt Pattanaik, Annapoorna devi is”… the universal and timeless kitchen-goddess….the mother who feeds. Without her there is starvation, a universal fear. This makes Annapurna a universal goddess… Her popular shrine islocated in Varanasi, on the banks of the Ganges River.” Her association with the giving of food (wealth) led her in the time to be transformed into Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth. The Annapurna Conservation Area (7,629 km) is a well known trekking region. There are three major trekking routes in the Annapurna region: the Jomson Trek to Jomson and Muktinath (increasingly disturbed by a road-building project; the Annapurna Sanctuary route to Annapurna base camp; and the Annapurna Circuit, Which circles the Annapurna Himal itself and includes the Jomsom route. The town of Pokhara usually serves as a starting point for these treks, and is also a good starting place for other short treks of one to four days. Such as routes to Ghorpani or Ghandruk.  About two-thirds of all trekkers in Nepal visit the Annapurna region. The area is easily accessible, guest houses in the hills are plentiful, and treks here offer incredibly diverse scenery, with both high mountains and lowland villages. Also, because the entire area is inhabited, trekking in the region offers unique cultural exposure and experience.
